Style. My original OTP… really it’s the first pairing I actually fell in love with. So this is a little bittersweet, but I’ll give it my best.
who is the big spoon/little spoon
They trade, it basically depends on the others mood. They’ve always loved sleeping next to each other, so spooning is a common occurrence. Sometimes they’ll even switch positions in the middle of sleeping, but they always wake up next to each other. Kyle’s no cuddler, but with Stan it’s different. When they’re together, they’re in tune with each other and it doesn’t even really feel like they’re with someone else, they just /are/. So Kyle doesn’t feel too coddled, and Stan feels more grounded. There’s no where else they’d rather be.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity
They LOVE watching movies or playing video games with each other. They sometimes only go/play just to hear the other’s opinion of it /during/ the movie/game. Sometimes they’ll piss other people off around them, but then they just act even more obnoxious and laugh harder once the person gets up and leaves. This has actually caused them to get kicked out of some places, but then they’ll prank them the next time they visit. They’re each other’s favorite comedian.
who uses all the hot water in the morning
They’re actually pretty considerate, but Kyle takes longer. It depends on who has to wake up earlier that morning, which is usually Stan since he teaches and coaches at the local high school. If Stan takes up too much hot water, Kyle will retaliate by leaving something gross in the bathroom for Stan to find later. Stan does the same freaking thing, and he usually wins since he will do things Kyle just /won’t do/.
what they order from take out
Kyle tries to get Stan to try new things, and this has resulted in Stan loving things like Sushi, Curry, and other non-traditional dishes. Sometimes Stan will absolutely hate the things Kyle gives him though, but he’ll pretend to like it since Stan can usually down anything but just force himself not to taste it. One time they both discovered they hated the same thing but thought the other loved it so they kept going back.
what is the most trivial thing they fight over
Sports. They both have different opinions on teams and players and sometimes they’ll bet on things and Kyle /usually/ wins based on statistics. This drives Stan /crazy/ since he watches more sports than Kyle does but for ‘some reason’ Kyle can still predict the outcome of games better. They make it fun though, and sometimes the outcome determines who’s giving and who’s getting it that night. Sometimes Kyle throw’s Stan a bone.
who does most of the cleaning
Whoever’s home. Sometimes Kyle is booked with patients and sometimes his schedule frees up, so whenever one has the time they just overhaul and clean the house. Stan is a bit of a packrat though, so his stuff gets cluttered and he doesn’t really do anything about it. He also gets testy when Kyle touches his stuff, so they decided to have common places where things stay the way they are, and then personal space where they tend to their own things.
who steals the blankets
Since they sleep so closely anyway, it’s usually not a problem. Kyle does prefer more blanket though, but Stan likes more air circulation. They’re perfectly compatible in that regard.
who leaves their stuff around
It’s not really who leaves their stuff around, it’s that Stan’s piles just /grow/. Kyle has been trying to work with him about his hoarding problem, and though he’s made a lot of progress, sometimes Stan relapses. They can’t own pets because Kyle knows once they get one dog, more will come after that. Instead, Stan volunteers at the local animal shelter while Kyle monitors how he handles that. If Stan keeps improving with no relapses, he’ll buy him a puppy for his birthday next year.
who remembers to buy the milk
Whoever’s out. Stan usually stays after school for practices and games so he doesn’t do a lot of the grocery shopping or cooking since he doesn’t get home until after dinner during the week. Kyle drives right by the grocery store from his office, so it’s usually him. On the weekends though, Stan cooks for Kyle since he picked up a lot of really good recipes from his dad. Though sometimes they’re content with ordering a pizza, it’s a whatever thing.
who remembers anniversaries
They both do, but they never remind the other. The whole day they pretend like nothing’s happening until one of them springs a surprise on the other. Sometimes it’s in bed, sometimes it’s at dinner, sometimes it’s at the school or at the office, but it’s always different and they always make the other smile. Nothing ever gets old and there’s always something new to show the other the next day.
